Meet the Oddfellows

Shannon Haney

Shannon is an Izard County native and a Lyon College alumna with a B.A. in Political Science. She has worked at a daily newspaper, co-founded a weekly newspaper, and worked in marketing. She also spent 12 years in the Arkansas Army National Guard where she trained in strategic messaging and served as Commander of the 119th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, a company of print and broadcast journalists.

Shannon and her family moved back to Batesville in 2016 where she lives the life of a nerd surrounded by two of her loves, piles of books and old houses. After living in several downtowns around the state including Argenta, Little Rock, Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, and Rogers, she lives in downtown once more and serves on the boards of Main Street Batesville and Batesville Preservation Association, and on the city’s Historic District Commission.
