Things took a great turn!

I have been lucky enough to embark on a new journey that started in November. For some this would have been the end of a hobby or way of life even. I don’t like defeat and I certainly don’t like being told Im going to fail. I upgraded my digital rig. I also bought 2 dream cameras and some lenses I’ve drooled over for years. I am pleased that I was able to do so with out having to worry about how things would turn out.

This spring is going to be one of discovery and awe for me. Added to the collection are some classics and a new model. For film I decided to purchase the Yashica MAT 124-G, and the Mamiya M645 super. Both of these cameras are 120mm film cameras and have unique attributes. In addition to the film cameras, one must have the film. I hit the market hard and was able to secure some Portraits 400, Lomo Purple, and the work horse of the film world, Ilford HP5.

For digital I stayed with Canon for a 15th year. The model I chose is the mirrorless R6. I kept with the 50mm and 24-104mm L series lenses. The option for dual SD cards was a huge factor for an over shooter like myself. The mirrorless gem offers some great depth of field and stupid amounts of clarity I wasn’t used to on my 60D’s. If youve followed me for a while you’ll know that I have always struggled with getting crisp photos. With this new set I will be able to get what I’m after.

What a journey! Thank you for sticking with me.
