What’s odd got to do with it?

I’ve always been a huge admirer of eastern cultures for the art and mythology and stories. I’ve been lucky enough in my life to travel to the Denver museum of art and see the Asian & Japanese exhibits. The mythology is beautiful and elegant, yet in a lot of cases it’s just plain odd.

These pieces of sculpture and wood block prints are my favorites! The armor and some of the metal work is also just as wonderfully weird and creepy. I love that most of this is by design. Meant to strike fear in the heart of the enemy. For me I love that photography can conjure so many emotions by causing shock or fear. We’re left with something beautiful no matter what.

Find that odd beauty and love it while you can.
